Fabian Offert

Graduate student researcher in Media Arts and Technology at UCSB, working with STAGE this year

Fabian Offert is a curator and engineer interested in the interface of computation and aesthetics. Currently, he is a doctoral student, Graduate Student Researcher, and Regent's Fellow in the Media Arts and Technology program at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Before, he worked at ZKM | Karlsruhe where he curated and managed several large-scale exhibitions. Other collaborations include Goethe Institut New York and IRCAM/Centre Pompidou. He received his Dipl. degree from Justus Liebig University Gießen, where he was a German National Academic Foundation fellow and student of composer and director Heiner Goebbels, with a thesis on "Information, Concept, Computability. The Computer as a Medium of Art.”
