Testimonials

Through STAGE's work process, our theatre and film projects go through many iterative steps. Each STAGE project is built through a living process that evolves over multiple work periods and in front of audiences. The scripts are the result of the performances and screenings and not vice versa.

Through surveys and in-depth discussions, invited audiences and viewers help STAGE by asking and answering questions raised by the story and the science. From open rehearsals, rough cut screenings, workshop performances, revision screenings, through fully-realized productions and premieres -  audience members and viewers are key contributors, helping to assess both the story and the scientific ideas.

In addition, students who are excited about STAGE's work process, can volunteer on any of STAGE's projects and develop their skillset. They will need to commit to a certain number of hours per week and attend the weekly STAGE Lab Group Meetings.

If you are interested in volunteering with STAGE, please send a cover letter describing how you would most like to contribute to the process to stagelab@uchicago.edu
