Embedded within UChicago's Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, STAGE is a devised theatre and film lab dedicated to meaningful collaborations among scientists, technologists and artists. The work that STAGE generates conveys the flavor, substance and texture of scientific activity to give audiences visceral experiences that ignite their curiosity.

What are we looking for?
STAGE is looking for dedicated undergraduate students from all academic disciplines to work with art, science and technology professionals along with UChicago faculty, staff and students on STAGE's theatre and film projects.

Undergraduate students with hybrid interests and skills, i.e., science and engineering students who have experience or interest in theatre and/or film; artists, performers, designers, dramaturgs and students from other disciplines who have experience or interest in science and/or technology.

STAGE is particularly interested in candidates who are inspired by STAGE's non-traditional method of devising stories through collective research and collaborative play. STAGE requires that UChicago undergraduate students commit to a minimum of two consecutive quarters of work with the Lab.

Interested UChicago undergraduates should apply via Handshake. Positions are unpaid for an initial volunteer period after which STAGE will assist you in identifying on campus resources for undergraduate interns such as Metcalf grants.

- What your previous theatre or film experience entailed, and why you're interested in working with STAGE and in a new way?
OR, if you don't have previous theatre or film experience,
- Why are you interested in working with STAGE?

Include hours per week that you would be able to commit to STAGE over the course of two quarters or more. Send your CV and cover letter to: stagelab@uchicago.edu

Application Timeline:
For Summer Quarter: apply mid-January through mid-May
For Fall Quarter: apply mid-April through mid-August
For Winter Quarter: apply mid-October through mid-December
